Keep your eyes peeled for the summer edition of the Cabela’s catalog. You might recognize the scenery.

The marketing people at Cabela’s happened upon the BlissWood Website when they were searching for a location to photograph models for their summer catalog and fell in love with our Texas guest ranch instantly.

We hosted them for 10 days on the ranch and provided everything they needed to get the most memorable shots for their catalog, including a our beautiful scenery, huge live oaks, and a canoe!

We’re absolutely tickled that they chose to use our Texas guest ranch as the backdrop for their summer catalog and can’t wait to see the results.

What is Cabela’s?

In case you didn’t know, Cabela’s is the world’s foremost outfitter of hunting, fishing, and outdoor gear. They have over 30 stores in the US, including three right here in Texas as well as locations all over the world.

If you’ve ever been to one of their stores, you won’t soon forget the experience.

Think of it like a Disneyland for outdoor sporting enthusiasts. When you walk in the entrance, you’ll see a big hill that looks like the tip of a mountain with animals of various sizes all around it (stuffed, of course) and an aquarium filled with big mouth bass and trout and other game fish (these are the real deal).

We couldn’t show you any of the pictures we took with the models in them (you’ll have to wait for the summer catalog to see those), but here are a few behind-the-scene shots for you to enjoy.

Imagine Ballroom pairs hopeful dancers with expert ballroom dancers. The show is part lesson, part performance, and all fun. It’s a chance for many to live a dream.

As many of you know, Carol was a professional ballroom dancer for eight years. That seems like a lifetime ago now. Still, in spite of a busy schedule running her Texas Guest Ranch and Cat Spring Restaurant, Carol finds time to dance whenever she can.

A peaceful, foggy morning at our Texas guest ranch

Porch swings spark creativity

They explored the area, browsed antique stores and genuinely enjoyed Central Texas small towns with big personalities.

We had a great time chatting when they came to eat at Carol’s Cat Spring restaurant. One of the best parts of our business is the fact that we get to meet so many wonderful people!
