Since schedules are hard to align and you may have your own children who want to see you on Mother’s Day, you need not schedule your Mother / Daughter Getaway for the weekend of May 8, 2011. Any time will do, before or after Mother’s Day. It’s the time together that’s important.

“What a beautiful day at BlissWood we shared together – my children, my grandchildren, their friends, and your wonderful ecosystem.

The weather was perfect. Oh, what a dramatic change from the city. The flowers, the clean air, blue skies, just experiencing nature is an unforgettable experience for the young ones. My granddaughter especially enjoyed playing with the new kittens, and my 3-year-old grandson was so excited to ride a horse. The teenagers were enthralled with the chickens with feathers on their feet and the pot-bellied pig. Our only regret is that we didn’t have time for more activities. We’re looking forward to archery, fishing, and riding around the ranch in the golf carts on our next visit, which will be soon. Thank you for a grandcation only an hour away from Houston.” AF

Take a few days off to enjoy the last weeks of summer. Explore the 650-acres of our Central Texas Vacation Ranch on horseback. The atmosphere is always fun and casual, and guests of the bed and breakfast rub shoulders with locals.

The weeks and months after the birth of your child will be filled with many joyous moments, along with many sleepless ones. The meaning of time will change. Some days you’ll feel triumphant simply because you managed to take a shower, make your bed and prepare dinner. Other days, you won’t.
