LOTT Ladies of Texas Tradition

Monday, October 12th, 2009

Not so long ago, a group of horseback riders gathered at our Texas guest ranch. We are situated on over 600 beautiful acres of diverse terrain, allowing this group to enjoy riding through pastures and forests, past lakes, and into spring-fed creeks. But just who was this group of experienced horseback riding people?

LOTT: Ladies of Texas Tradition

They call themselves LOTT, Ladies of Texas Tradition. Back in 1993, group of women assembled at LH7Ranch; their goal was to celebrate being independent and free, and to experience the outdoors and all things equine. They have been riding together ever since, throughout Texas.

Here at our Houston area guest ranch, they enjoyed fine weather and good company. After their big day of riding, the ladies enjoyed a wonderful meal at Carol’s at Cat Spring Restaurant.

Why not host your next reunion or function here? With ample private housing, miles of trails for trailriding, hiking or biking, and tasty food in our elegant yet casual fine dining restaurant, you can’t go wrong. Foster lasting friendships or solid working relationships with an hour or two in the saddle. If you are an experienced rider, you know how this is true, and if you are a novice, just think of all the fun and laughs you can share.

Houston Guest Ranch Welcomes New Ranch Managers

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009

Our Houston area Guest Ranch is a working ranch, which makes it an interesting place to stay. Guests at our Houston area Bed and Breakfast enjoy being around the animals, going for trail rides, and being surrounded by 650-acres of stunning central Texas ranch land.

We at Blisswood feel blessed that the magnetic team of Brandi and Mike Schmitt has joined our Texas Guest Ranch as Ranch Managers. They come to us with a great deal of experience, having owned their own farm in Ohio for 9 years. Brandi and Mike understand what it takes to manage a ranch, and their presence helps everything run smoothly for those of us who live here, and for our guests. Brandi brings outstanding organizational skills to the ranch. Mike brings a myriad of talents; he is great with animals, great with machines, and great with people. He particularly enjoys being a hitchman, and looks forward to offering stagecoach rides around the ranch. He will also be helping with training horses, and trailriding.

Brandi and Mike have long been interested in promoting natural products. With their guidance, our Houston area Guest Ranch will soon offer our guests natural, locally grown vegetables and locally raised meats. These products will also be available at our Houston area fine dining restaurant, Carol’s at Cat Spring Restaurant. We at Blisswood have been heading in this direction for some time, and it is delightful to have Mike and Brandi be able to draw on their own experience to help us realize our long-term goals.
