At BlissWood, good things come to those who bait

Most visitors come to BlissWood, our vacation ranch and bed and breakfast inn in Cat Spring, Texas, for a weekend (or more!) of trail riding. We are, after all, a 650-acre working ranch.

But BlissWood, our property an hour west of Houston in Texas Hill Country, also boasts several pristine lakes stocked with bass. We encourage guests to take the bait and go fishing. It’s a great way for city slickers of all ages to forget the hustle and bustle and connect with nature.

While some people fish for sport — or for supper — others fish as a way to simply relax and unwind. Fishing at BlissWood promotes peace and quiet and serenity of the mind and is calming to the nerves. Leave your cell phone behind or put it on “silence.”

Both experienced and novice anglers are invited to take advantage of BlissWood’s catch-and-release bass fishing option. If you bring your own gear, the cost is $29 per person. If you would like to use our gear, the cost is $49 per person.

Our catch and release policy is of benefit to both the fish and our guests. The fish are released back to their own environment, giving other visitors to BlissWood a chance to catch the same fish again.

So go ahead. Post a note on your guest house or cabin door that reads: Gone Fishin.’ Catch You Later.

Bass fishing is one of many relaxing activities here at BlissWood.
