Ideal Setting for Bachelor and Bachelorette Fun :: Texas Ranch

Bachelorette parties in Houston, TexasIf your wedding is approaching and you are on the fence about whether or not to partake in the bachelor and bachelorette parties, there is a great alternative to the dance clubs and hoopla of a couple who wants to start their marriage off on the right foot.

Whether you’re looking to get away for a day, hide out for a night, unwind for a weekend, or seek adventure with your pals, BlissWood Bed and Breakfast Ranch is the ideal destination. Nestled an hour west of Houston in the small town of Cat Spring, Texas, this is not your stereotypical bed and breakfast. You don’t have to be a honeymooning couple to enjoy its many features, attractions, amenities and accommodations.

Our 350-acre working ranch offers many diverse activities; from lakes and ponds – to an astounding array of wildlife – ranging from domestic to exotic. Activities include bass fishing, horseback riding, mountain biking, trap shooting, archery, and hiking. And after engaging in any of those activities, you can get a massage to soothe your active muscles and sore joints. Instead of going out and participating in, ahem, questionable activities, you cannot get in trouble with your mate by participating in an active, fun and memorable day.

For those who prefer immersing in peace and quiet to reflect upon their forthcoming wedding day, we have a quaint writer’s cabin. Spend some time in a log cabin, or spread out in a Texas farmhouse, ranch studio house, or cottage. BlissWood Bed and Breakfast has the ideal accommodations for you.

Texas RanchIn the unlikely event that you have enough time and somehow manage to sample all that BlissWood has to offer, including two state parks — Stephen F. Austin and Washington-on-the-Brazos are also close by and awaiting exploration.

The ranch’s uniqueness and eclectic nature are emphasized by its wildlife. You will find a variety of animals, such as Angus cattle, horses, miniature donkeys, peacocks, American Bison, black buck antelopes, fallow deer and native deer. Even the furnishings have character. For instance, the writer’s cabin used to be a hunter’s shack and features an old Confederate desk that was carried around by Confederate Army soldiers and used in the field. There is plenty of history here, tracing back to German settlers in the 1830’s.

With lodging options ranging from intimate, one-bedroom cabins that sleep one to three people; to entire, two-suite houses that can comfortably sleep ten, there is comfort waiting for any size group. We welcome brides and grooms to be, and their wedding party or relatives, to come unwind and enjoy yourself before the wedding day. Our historic ranch and its sweeping grounds is ideal for hosting corporate retreats, honeymoons, elopements, formal weddings, overnight stays and family vacations.

Whether you want to disappear and get away from it all, host a bachelor or bachelorette party, find some adventure in an atypical setting, or maybe reconnect, intensify or rekindle romance, we offer the ideal atmosphere for all of those needs and more.
